Presence status options and custom presence statuses in Lync

This article will guide you on changing your presence status times and custom statuses as required.

  • You will need Lync desktop installed on your computer.

Lync 2010 for Microsoft Windows:

1. In the Lync main window, click the Options button, and then click Status.

2. Click the up and down arrows to specify the number of minutes before your presence status changes to Inactive.

3. Click the up and down arrows to specify the number of minutes before your presence status changes to Away.

4. Click the appropriate button to control general status (override default settings or accept them), and then click OK.

 

Lync 2011 for Mac OSX

1. Click the Lync menu and select Preferences…

2. Select the Accounts tab then click the up and down arrows to specify the number of minutes before your presence status changes to Inactive.

3. Close the box to save your changes.

Complete. You have now configured customer presence statuses in Lync.
