Migration to The Console – Resellers

This article will walk you through the reseller program after your account upgrade.

Changes to your account

You will now receive greater flexibility and better control over your customer’s accounts. The interface has a modern feel and provides you the ability to provide your customers login credentials to allow them to complete changes to their account such as email creation, file management and database creation.

Email setup updates

There will be some changes required to your email client.

Incoming mail server: mail.example.com
Outgoing mail server: mail.example.com
Where example.com is your domain name (e.g., mail.malvernsflowershop.com.au).

cPanel

Your account and customer hosting accounts (domains) will be migrated to cPanel. General information on the cPanel control can be seen here.

Please keep reading for important information related to your account for the management of these cPanel accounts and how to extract a list of your customer’s accounts.

WHM

How to I access my cPanel WHM reseller hosting?

You can view your cPanel WHM details within the Reseller Admin Panel

  1. Log in to your Reseller Admin Panel
  2. Locate the cPanel WHM account by hovering over ‘Products’, clicking ‘Manage Customer Products’ and clicking on the domain name of the WHM/cPanel you want to edit
  3. Click cPanel Login to manage your main account or WHM Login to manage your customer’s domains.

How do I extract a list/CSV of my customer’s accounts?

  1. You will need to have selected WHM Login from the access steps above.
  2. Once in, navigate to List Accounts on the left pane where you will see your customer’s domains.
  3. Scroll down to the very bottom in the right pane where you will see an option to “Download all records to a CSV file.”

If you have multiple WHM accounts, you will need to do this process for each WHM account.

How do I access the my customer’s accounts?

  1. You will need to have selected WHM Login from the access steps above.
  2. Once in, navigate to List Accounts on the left pane where you will see your customer’s domains.
  3. Click on the cpanel icon to login to that customer’s domains.

How do I add an account (new hosted domain)?

You will need to create a package before you can add a new account. Please read “What is a package?” below for steps on how to do this.

Now that you have created a package, you can add your first domain name through your Web Host Manager.

  1. You will need to have selected WHM Login from the access steps above.
  2. Once in, navigate to List Accounts on the left pane where you will see your customer’s domains.
  3. Enter the Domain you wish to create (exclude the www – for example, cpanelwhm.com.au)
  4. The Username will auto-generate, enter a password for the account or use the password generator
  5. Choose the package you created earlier in the ‘Choose a Package’ drop down
  6. Click ‘Create’
  7. WHM will create the cPanel account for the domain name. It will also create the DNS records and provide an output on completion.

How do I access the domain after it has been created?

See steps above on “How do I access my customer’s accounts?”.

What is a package?

A package is a collection of predefined specifications which defines how many resources a user or domain name has access to. For example, you may choose to sell 2 plans called Basic and Business. You would define a limited amount of resources for the Basic plan (Disk 30GB, Bandwidth 300GB and 30 email accounts), whereas you would provide a full featured option for the Business plan (disk 100GB, bandwidth 1000GB and 100 email accounts).

How do I create a package?

  1. You will need to have selected WHM Login from the access steps above.
  2. Locate “Add a package” (under “Packages”)
  3. Fill out the limitations you require and click crease.

The limitations which you may set are as follows:

  • Quota (MB) – Disk space in megabytes available for the cPanel account
  • Bandwidth (MB) – Data transfer in megabytes available for the cPanel account
  • Max FTP Accounts
  • Max Email Accounts
  • Max Email Lists
  • Max Databases
  • Max Sub Domains
  • Max Parked Domains
  • Max Addon Domains

How do I suspend and un-suspend an account?

You can suspend and unsuspend an account through your WHM:

  1. You will need to have selected WHM Login from the access steps above.
  2. Click “Suspend/Unsuspend Accounts” (under “Account Functions”)
  3. Highlight the domain
  4. Click ‘Suspend/Unsuspend’ and it’s done.

A suspended account will generate a holding page on the customer’s website. Suspending an account also suspends the customer’s emails.

How do I reset the password for an account?

  1. You will need to have selected WHM Login from the access steps above.
  2. Locate “Password Modification” (under “Account Functions”)
  3. Select the domain name and type the new password
  4. Click ‘Change Password’ and it’s done.
